Sponsor.The Sapporo 2026 Trip to Japan Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by Sleeman Breweries Ltd. (“Sponsor”).
Contest Period: The Contest will begin at 12:00 AM EST on June 29, 2026 and close at 11:59 PM EST on December 4, 2026 (the “Contest Period”).

Prizes:
Grand Prize: There is one (1) Trip for two to Japan (ARV $15,000.00) available to be won. The Grand Prize consists of a trip for two (2) people to Japan, including return flights to and from Sapporo, Japan, seven (7) nights’ accommodations, and $500 spending money.
The Canadian departure and return point will be the closest of the following airports to the winner’s residence: Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, or Halifax. Winner will be responsible for travel to and from the applicable Canadian airport for departure to Japan, and return home.

Chances of winning. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Eligibility and Conditions. The Contest is open to residents of Canada who are of legal drinking age in their province of residence at the time of entry. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Contest is not open to: (a) employees, agents, or representatives of the Sponsor, and any business, company, fiduciary or other legal entity controlled by or affiliated with the Sponsor, their promotional agencies, the Prize supplier, as well as the immediate family members (brothers, sisters, children, parents) or spouses of the foregoing, or any person with whom the foregoing are domiciled (the “Contest Parties”); or (b) provincial liquor licensees and their employees.

The provincial liquor agencies are not connected with this Contest in any manner whatsoever and are not liable in any way whatsoever with respect to any matter relating to this Contest.

Entry with purchase:

British Columbia and Alberta	Obtain one (1) PIN code by purchasing a specially marked case of four (4) 500mL cans, or six (6) 500mL cans of Sapporo beer at a participating store; or with a pint or 500mL serving of Sapporo in a participating licensed establishment.
Saskatchewan	Obtain one (1) PIN code by purchasing a specially marked case of six (6) 500mL cans at a participating store; or with a pint or 500mL serving of Sapporo in a participating licensed establishment.
Manitoba	Obtain one (1) PIN code by purchasing a specially marked case of six (6) 500mL cans at a participating store; or with a pint or 500mL serving of Sapporo in a participating licensed establishment.
Ontario	Obtain one (1) PIN code by purchasing a specially marked case of six (6) 500mL cans, twelve (12) 500mL cans, twelve (12) 355mL cans, or twenty-four (24) 355mL cans of Sapporo beer at a participating store; or with a pint or 500mL serving of Sapporo in a participating licensed establishment.
Quebec	Obtain one (1) PIN code by purchasing a specially marked case of four (4) 500mL cans, twelve (12) 355mL cans or twenty-four (24) 355mL cans of Sapporo beer at a participating store; or with a pint or 500mL serving of Sapporo in a participating licensed establishment.
New Brunswick and Nova Scotia	Obtain one (1) PIN code by purchasing a specially marked case of twelve (12) 355mL cans of Sapporo beer at a participating store;
Newfoundland & Labrador and Prince Edward Island	Obtain one (1) PIN code by purchasing a specially marked case of four (4) 500mL cans of Sapporo beer at a participating store;

Specially marked cases are available in Canada while supplies last. See Contest Period in section 2 of these Contest Rules.
An entry is made by completing and submitting an entry form, including the correct answer to a math skill-testing question, together with the PIN code from the specially marked case of Sleeman beer, at the applicable section of the https://www.sapporocontest.ca/ (the “Contest Website”), according to province of residence.

No purchase entry. To participate in the Contest without a purchase, mail a legible, handwritten, original letter of at least one hundred (100) words explaining why you would like to win the Prize, accompanied by your name, age, address (including city or town and postal code), email address, and telephone number (with area code), to “Sapporo 2026 Trip to Japan Contest”, Sleeman Breweries, 551 Clair Road West, Guelph ON N1L 1E9. Upon successful receipt of the handwritten letter, Sleeman will email an eligible PIN Code to you to the email address included within your letter . You may submit one (1) letter to “Sapporo 2026 Trip to Japan Contest” per day, with different text for each letter. Letters may be mailed until ten (10) days before the close of the Contest Period; see section 2 of these Contest Rules).
Prize Draw . Arandom draw from the eligible entries submitted during the Contest Period will be held at approximately 4:00pm EST on December 7, 2026 at the Sponsor’s offices at 551 Clair Road West, Guelph, Ontario N1L 1E9 “Prize Draw Date” to select 1 entry for the Grand Prize.
Selected Entries.
Instant Prize Notification: Potential Instant Prize winners will be notified immediately at the time of entry via an on‑screen message indicating whether an Instant Prize has been won, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Rules. To be confirmed as an Instant Prize winner, the selected entrant must follow all on‑screen instructions and successfully complete all required verification steps, including correctly answering a skill‑testing question, if applicable. For greater certainty, winning an Instant Prize will not remove an entrant from, or otherwise limit, eligibility for the Grand Prize draw, provided the entrant continues to comply with these Rules and any applicable entry limits.

Grand Prize Notification: The Sponsor or its designated representative will make a maximum of three (3) attempts to contact the selected entrant by email within three (3) business days of the Prize Draw Date. If the selected entrant cannot be contacted within three (3) attempts or three (3) business days of the Prize Draw Date (whichever occurs first), or if there is a return of any notification as undeliverable, then that selected entrant will be disqualified and will forfeit all rights to the Prize, and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to randomly select an alternate eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible entries, in which case the provisions of this section shall apply to such new selected entrant.

Before being declared a winner of the Prize, the selected entrant will be required to sign and return, by the date indicated by the Sponsor or its designate, the Sponsor’s declaration and release form, which (among other things):
1. confirms compliance with these Rules;
2. acknowledges acceptance of the Prize as awarded;
3. releases the Contest Parties and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, the selected entrant’s participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the Prize or any portion thereof; and
4. agrees to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of the selected entrant’s name, city of residence, voice, statements about the Contest and/or image without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by the Sponsor in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast or online.
If the selected entrant fails to satisfy the above requirements within the specified time, then they will be disqualified and will forfeit all rights to the Prize, and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to randomly select an alternate eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible entries for the Prize Draw Date, in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such new selected entrant.
Prize Conditions. The following general conditions apply to the Prize:
1. Grand Prize Trip must be taken by December 28, 2027. Trip blackout periods: December 29-31, 2026, January 1-9 2027, Sapporo Snow Festival (February 2027 dates TBD ), Cherry Blossom Festival (March 2027 dates TBD), Golden Week (May 2027 dates TBD), and December 28-31, 2027. Blackout dates are subject to change.
2. Grand Prize winner and guest must each have a passport that is valid (i) for travel to Japan; and (ii) for at least six months beyond the date of travel. Neither Prize winner nor guest may be subject to any known barrier to entry into Japan. Sponsor will not be held responsible in the event that the winner and/or their guest are denied entry to the Japan or re-entry to Canada;
3. Prizes must be accepted as awarded, may not be assigned, and is not transferable or convertible to cash. No substitutions except at Sponsor’s option, in its sole discretion.
4. The costs of everything not specifically stated in the Prize description above as being included in the Prize are the sole responsibility of the winner, including, without limitation: travel to and from the applicable Canadian airport; gratuities; entertainment; health and travel insurance; and items of a personal nature. Grand Prize winner may also be required to present a valid major credit card in winner’s name at the time of hotel check-in to cover any incidental expenses; and
5. Sponsor reserves the right at any time to place reasonable restrictions on the availability or use of the Prize or any component thereof and substitute the Prize or a component thereof for any reason with a prize or a prize component of equal or greater value, including, without limitation, but solely at the Sponsor’s sole discretion, a cash award.
6. If the winner does not utilize any part(s) of the Prize, then any such part(s) not utilized will be forfeited in its (their) entirety and nothing will be substituted in its (their) place.
7. By accepting the Prize, the winner agrees to waive all recourse against the Released Parties if the Prize or a component thereof does not prove satisfactory, either in whole or in part.
8. In order to participate in a Prize, the winner’s guest must also sign and return the Sponsor’s release by a date to be specified by the Sponsor.
Contest Rules and Sponsor Decisions. By entering the Contest, entrants agree to abide by the Contest Rules and decisions of the Sponsor, which are final.
Personal Information. By entering this Contest, entrants’ consent to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information for the purposes of administering the Contest and in accordance with the Sponsor’s privacy policy available on the Contest Website. By accepting a Prize, winners consent to the use and disclosure to the public of their first name, place of residence (city, province), statements about the Contest, and/or images for publicity purposes in connection with the Contest in any media or formats, without further notice, permission or compensation.
Limitations of Liability. Without limiting the release referenced in section 9 above, and for greater certainty, the Contest Parties will not be liable for: a) any incomplete or inaccurate information, whether caused by Contest Website users or by any equipment or programming associated with or used in the Contest, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of entries; b) the theft, loss, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries or the Contest Website; c) any problems with, or technical malfunctions of, telephone networks or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, viruses or bugs; d) any failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by or from the Sponsor for any reason including but not limited to traffic congestion on the Internet or on any website or combination thereof; e) damage to an entrant’s or other person’s system occasioned by participation or uploading or downloading of materials in this Contest; or (f) any use of the entrant’s personal information as set out in section 12.
Indemnification. All contestants and all persons attempting to participate in the Contest hereby indemnify the Contest Parties against any damage or loss they may sustain in connection with their participation in, or attempt to participate in, the Contest, or use of the Prize.
Errors. Any QR codes or other entry codes containing or presenting errors will be cancelled. Under no circumstances will the Sponsor be required to distribute more Prizes than indicated in these Contest Rules.
Right to Cancel, Suspend or Modify. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify the Contest at any time, without notice, if a factor disrupts the proper conduct of the Contest, consistent with these Rules. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the Contest in the case of error, particularly in production, distribution or printing, or the occurrence of any other event giving rise to claims exceeding the number of Prizes contemplated under these Rules.
Applicable Laws. These Contest rules are subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
